


Dr. Jacques Doubell is a compassionate and skilled cardiologist dedicated to providing the highest level of cardiovascular care.
Dr Doubell obtained his MBChB from Stellenbosch University, followed by a Fellowship in Internal Medicine (FCP) and MMed (Stell) degree. Thereafter he completed his cardiology training (Cert Cardio) (Stell) and MPhil (Cardio) degree. Subsequently he worked as a consultant cardiologist at Tygerberg Hospital before moving to Durbanville Mediclinic in 2024.
Dr Doubell’s career has been marked by academic excellence. He received the Francie van Zyl Medal for the best MBChB student at Stellenbosch University, was awarded the title of best final-year medical student in cardiology and completed the RC Fraser International Fellowship in Cardiovascular Intervention at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. He has performed research on valvular heart disease and coronary angiography. His work has been presented at national and international conferences, and he has several publications in leading journals. His research on vascular access earned him Stellenbosch University’s best cardiology publication award.
Dr Doubell has a keen interest in complex coronary interventions and structural heart interventions, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Dr. Doubell places a strong emphasis on patient education and holistic care and strives to empower individuals to take charge of their cardiovascular health. He is known for his warm communication style, taking the time to listen to patients and address their concerns with empathy and clarity.
